Hello, New to the forum, sorry my French is very poor. In the process of doing classes. Wondering if anyone could suggest a spot very near or preferably on the island of Montreal (on land) where I could go and safely fly a kite that someone has given me. I have spent a few hours on a trainer and then messed with a 5m traction kite for a while. Have taken my 10m C kite out in a baseball field to just get the lines out and check out the safety. Where can I try this kite out in low winds that would be a large safe place with not too many people around? Any thoughts? Thanks for your help, Mike |

Hi Mikesnow, for pratice near Montreal , you can go to the Parc de la commune in Varennes. it's a big park near the St-Laurence River , lot of people go there for pratice or doing buggy. see the image Thk one bridge , direction Est on the 132 , until Varenne , after that , at left you take rue sainte Anne after left on Rue Sainte Therese. I thinks it's you Best choice. in winter time , lot more place to train.. Have Fun Wave ![]() Bon vent et un super été de vacances et de kite.. Oh yess. |

mikesnow a écrit Mike you can also practice at Parc Maritime St-Lambert A gusty place because of Ile-Notre-Dame but enough room to buggy, mountainboard and static flying. Usually not crowded (max 2-3 kites). Lien Google Map The spot might be lost next year because St-Lambert wants to build synthetic soccer fields there. |

I heard of Parc Jarry too but never tried. IMO any spot surrounded by buildings, neighboorhood, etc are too gusty |
